by Tennessee Williams

Directed by Timothy Mark Davis

Join NEW CITY PLAYERS at The Vanguard for their company based production of The Glass Menagerie. Considered Williams’ most personal and auto-biographical play, The Glass Menagerie, full of dreams, desires, and memories, is a picture of American society during the Depression on the cusp of WWII. Tucked into this award winning four person drama is the perpetual longing for the good life that aches with the character’s pasts, unravels their presents, and changes the trajectory of their futures. The Glass Menagerie explores what Williams describes as,

“… the long-delayed but always expected something that we live for.”

There will be talkbacks with the cast and production team to discuss the play and the process

immediately following both Sunday performances (June 19 & 26).
